The Royal Australian Regiment Association (The Association) is a not for profit mutual
association of past and present infantry servicemen who have served, in or are currently serving in, a Battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment (The Regiment).

AIMS

The Association was formed in 1969 to achieve its Aims.

To perpetuate the close bonds of comradeship and esprit de corps created by past and present serving members of the Royal Australian Regiment
To protect the Regiment's good name and preserve its interests in the community
To preserve the memory of those who died in service with the Regiment
To assist the sick, wounded and needy who have served in the Regiment
To assist widows and children of deceased members of the Regiment
To assist dependants of serving members of the Regiment where the Regiment cannot give assistance
To maintain the Regiment's memorials
To foster and develop, for historical purposes, the Regiment's history
To support the RAR Foundation

 

STRUCTURE
The Association consists of a National Council, State/Territory Association Branches and Battalion RAR Associations.

The Council provides the parent organisation, rules and guidance for all RAR Associations and acts as the national advocate to Government.

 

 

The Council comprises:
National President - Mr Michael von Berg, MC
Members - The State/Territory Presidents
Secretary - Adjutant of The School of Infantry.


The RAR Association Queensland Division Inc. acts as the National Secretariat and Co-ordinating Headquarters for the President and Council.

 

Our Patron is General Sir Phillip Bennett AC, KBE, DSO.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership of the Association's State/Territory Branches and Unit Associations is available to all ex-members of 65th, 66th and 67th Battalions, all serving and ex-members of Battalions of the Regiment, members of Corps other than Infantry who have been on the posted strength of Battalions of the Regiment and attached Chaplains and members of philanthropic organisations.
